Lead (UU / OU) Adamant (+Atk, -SpA) or Jolly (+Spe, -SpA) Technician Life Orb 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Fake Out Return / Double Hit / Taunt Pursuit / Payback U-Turn / Taunt
Description
Ambipom is a great lead as it can take out other frail leads and interrupt other bulky ones. Fake Out is Ambipom's most attractive feature. It breaks Sashes, has +1 priority, forces a flinch, and receives a Technician boost as well as a STAB boost. Return is reliable and it hits hard, but Double Hit essentially has the same base power thanks to Technician. Double Hit is worth mentioning as it can break through Substitutes, but at the cost at having a somewhat unreliable accuracy of 90%.

You can use Ambipom's blistering speed to your advantage by running Taunt, as you can outrun many bulky leads or walls and prevent them from doing anything tricky like setting up Stealth Rocks. Pursuit can take frail Psychic-types and Ghost-types on the switch and gets a Technician boost if you predict incorrectly. However, Payback gets a bigger Technician boost and can double in power if you're slower than the opponent (although you probably won't be able to take the hit). U-Turn can regain you some momentum as well as doing solid damage to Tyranitar.

Special Attacker? (UU) Timid (+Spe, -Atk) Technician Life Orb / Leftovers 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe Nasty Plot Swift / Thunderbolt / Water Pulse / Shadow Ball Agility / Swift / Thunderbolt / Water Pulse / Shadow Ball Baton Pass
Description
Ambipom's Special Attack is awful, sitting at a low base special attack of 60. However, it does have an impressive special movepool, as well as having access to Nasty Plot. This doesn't change how awful Special Attacking Ambipom is. However, you can also Baton Pass Nasty Plots as well as Agilities, so this set is still worth a glance. Swift is your best Special STAB, boosted by Technician, along with Water Pulse. Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball are there for coverage.
Countering Ambipom
Lead

Not too hard to deal with. The problem is that Ambipom's Fake Out essentially guarantees damage. Just send in something that resists Fake Out then deal with it accordingly.
